Today marks the initial release of my new Linux utility, Photo Importer. I wrote it because i couldn't find a Linux image management utility whose import functions didn't require manual intervention. Photo Importer's goal is to provide reliable, hands-off import of media from digital cameras for Linux and the GNOME desktop. I've started organising the 16 GB of photos we took on our recent holiday along the Great Ocean Road.  My efforts so far are in my gallery or on my Picasa Web Albums and maybe on my Facebook page when i manage to get the Picasa integration going.
