This guy supports my theory that the first one was female.  He has a small abdomen, and was just as docile and photogenic.  Aside from the small amount amount of purple colour bleed around the overexposed area, i'm pretty happy with the image the Canon PowerShot S2 produced.

This little beauty (geez, i didn't mean to sound like Steve Irwin there!) moved into our bedroom last night during the storm. Needless to say, Angela wasn't terribly impressed. A quick bit of spider-wrangling and all was well in the house again. The spider was quite docile, to the point where i wondered whether it was sick, or possibly pregnant and full of eggs (which would explain the extremely large abdomen). She sat still for about 7 or 8 super-macro shots, and was still to be found in the same position more than an hour later. ...
