Wow. I don't think i've ever seen a pro-lifer given so much time to state a rational case without interruption. The audience is so one-eyed i wanted to puke, but that doesn't diminish the graciousness of Jon Stewart as a host. All the more reason to watch the Daily Show!

Alcohol and football, alcohol and you
I can't believe i'm saying this, but Phil Gould has recently shown what i consider to be one of the best bits of journalistic thinking about alcohol that i've read in a very long time. What it all boils down to is this: cost/benefit analysis. Gould has come to the realisation that the benefits to NRL players of drinking alcohol simply don't outweigh the cost.

UCSB has a really cool press release and study on squid beaks. I just love stuff like this - whenever i hear it, all i can think of is the greatness of God.
