Everyday beauty - part 1

Everyday beauty - part 1

One of the things that constantly amazes me is the depth of beauty we can see in God's creation all around us.  This photo was taken in my back yard after i had thrown the kitchen scraps into the compost heap.  This little guy was disturbed from his meal and came to rest right on my chest, looking straight at me.  It was only by chance that i had brought my camera - or perhaps not.

I think God speaks to us in many ways.  This photo is the first of hopefully many in a series i'm going to call "everyday beauty".  (Hint: make sure you choose "view original"...)

It is said of St. Francis of Assisi, "He found in all created things, however trivial, some reflection of the Divine perfection, and he loved to admire in them the beauty, power, wisdom, and goodness of their Creator."  I think that just about sums up the "forever moment" i had when taking this picture.
